Nashid ABdul Wasi School of Martial Arts
Nashid Abdul Wasi is a Mudarris (Teacher) in the KA System of Karate.
Mudarris Wasi became a student on September 1, 1970 and continued on to achieved the rank of Judan (10th degree Black Belt) and was the first student to have received the rank of 10th degree Black Belt in the system. Nashid is the third student to have received his teaching degree and the first to have become a Champion in the Breaking aspect of karate which included Red bricks, cinder slabs, patio slabs and Wood using the first two Knuckles, knife hands and finger tips and one finger breaks. Mudarris never used dividers to separate the targets when he perform his techniques (it was pure breaking with both hands).
His main fighting style is The Freestyle Strong which is the 4th Style in the Freestyle which was created June 6,1971 by the founder of The KA System Al-Mu’assis Karriem ABdAllah. As a White Belt Al-Mu’assis allowed Mudarris to fight in the Black Belt division at a major karate tournament in Connecticut given by the late Daniel K. Pai. Al-Mu’assis did this to prove that The KA System was a superior fighting system of karate. Nashid won the Black Belt Grand Championship and showed the World that the System was superior with its movements.
On May 22, 2010, Nashid Abdul Wasi was inducted into the Hall of Fame in New York City and was awarded the Karriem AbdAllah Award on May 19, 2018 by Kushinda Lamar Thorton and the NBLA of Harlem.

The 2019 Battle of the Warriors was held in Newark NJ and the contest introduced the Next Generation of the KA Systems Champions! This was the first tournament for the Dojo's pee wee's and they did not compete, they EXCELLED! The above photo features Khalan Lassiter (7 years old) holding his First place trophy. Khalan is the Great Grandson of Muddaris Nashid Abdul Wasi. Second place Champion Latif Muhammad (7 years old) on the right of the photo. On the left is Jermahl Stewart Jr. (4 years old) the 2nd place Champion in his Division. Jermahl Jr. is the grandson of Jerry Stewart. Champions Messiah Nickols 6 years and his twin brother Born-Sire Nickols (both age 6 years old) took 3rd and 4th place respectively. Congratulations to the young competitors of the Nashid Abdul Wasi School of Martial arts, They did a good job for their first tournament.

Its founder Al-Mu’assis Karriem ABdAllah was blessed to have developed the creation November 1967 it consist of 7 Styles 18 in between Styles which total 25 different ways to fight in karate. The styles and techniques allowed fighters to add more moves to their fighting style which most karate fighters are using today. The K.A. System is the mother of the changing of the guard in karate tournament and professional fighting now as you see it. Before the coming of the K.A. System and its techniques karate fighting was all traditional but as the earth rotated around the sun a change took place a new way of fighting blossomed. Mudarris Nashid Abdul Wasi 10th Degree Black Belt (Judan) has now open his 1st dojo and the teachings of The K.A. System of karate. The winner of many karate Championships and breaking techniques is presently ready to pass it on to the next generation.
